Dreamstime by FTP: how to set categories with its CSV

Dreamstime lets you upload by FTP with the title, description and keywords embedded in the file, but photos arrive without a category (“No Cat.”) and wait in “Unfinished”. You set the category by hand on its site or, in one go, with its CSV, which also goes up by FTP.
Step by step over FTP
- Connect to upload.dreamstime.com (port 21). The username is your account number (ID), not your name.
- Upload the photos to the root folder.
- On its site, in Unfinished, they appear with their metadata and no category.
- Choose up to 3 categories per photo and submit them for review.
We tested it with a real account in October 2026: photos arrived with title, description and keywords, and “No Cat.” as the category.
Categories in one go: its CSV
Dreamstime has an official spreadsheet template to set categories by number for many photos. Saved as CSV and uploaded by FTP after the photos, the categories are applied automatically. We tested this too: they come through.
AI and editorial
- AI: Dreamstime accepts it if the description says so and it goes in its AI category; otherwise it's rejected.
- Editorial: accepted.
- Size: 3 to 70 MP.
How Tagvora makes it easy
Tagvora picks the Dreamstime categories with AI, uploads the photos by FTP and, 15 minutes later, uploads the CSV with their categories. For AI images it adds to the description that they are AI-generated.
